Origin & History

Meowl is a 2013 internet relic. Chinese Weibo user zhumaokele posted a set of cat-owl Photoshops on April 28, 2013: the face of Melonpi, a viral Chinese cat, glued onto a barn owl. Reddit picked it up a month later, 9GAG kept it alive in 2016, and TikTok rediscovered it in 2024.

The in-game model keeps the joke intact — an owl with a calico cat's head and fur, plus green eyes. The name is just "meow" plus "owl." Not deep. Doesn't need to be.

In Steal a Brainrot

Meowl was the second OG, added in Update 21 (October 18, 2025) alongside the Meowl Event. It has been buffed six times, from $275M/s up to $600M/s, and it costs $650B — which makes it the only OG whose cost isn't exactly 1,000× its income.

Today the realistic route is an extremely rare Red Carpet spawn. It has also come out of limited riddle codes from Sammy, Los Traders and Cyber Craft Machine recipes (one used 3 Noobini Pizzanini plus a Headless Horseman), but those machines are gone and the codes ran out.
